The End of the Thread

A man wakes up in a white room. His only companion is a monitor that appears to act as a mirror. Then things begin to change. The only door to the room begins to take control of his actions.

It was made as J. Francis' graduation piece during his time at Royal Holloway University. The short was shot in a television studio over a three day period and edited over an intensive week.

The idea was born through a dream and evolved to be based around the themes of obsession, curiosity and fear.

The actor was not fully informed of the twists in the film's plot until on set and ensconced in the room. Partly due to pure cruelty but this was also to bring about a natural feel to the performance, essential with the film taking place in an alien environment.
